Do you remember?
The second floor of the mall, but outside on the balcony-like fixture
Leaning against the railing looking up into the black, dark sky of night
A few sprinkled stars, shimmering in the distance
Looking out across the parking lot at the building in-process medium height hotel with it's random twinkling lights
Mall music playing in the background, no clue what the song was
Too caught up in the moment
Too wrapped up in my thoughts
Do you remember?
We talked, we stood in peaceful silence

Then you told me, it was complicated
Those feelings of yours
I understood, or so I said
But did I?
Not really.
Mixed signals. I was confused.
