We thought it was unbreakable
Real life hit us like everyone said it would
High school came, and that was it
Nothing more than a childhood friendship
If you count up all the time we spent together in one year,
It would add up to at least six months
We laughed, and cried, and just sat quietly
Every Saturday, we took long walks
We were real with each other
Which said a lot because we were distant
We kept our space from everyone
Everyone, except each other
We soon became inseperatable
We came in a pair
And I didn't mind it, I had a true friend
Nothing was in the way of our friendship
But then high school came
Which meant boys, new friends
Separation and anxiety and disagreement
The end of our friendship was soon to come
But we didn't even know it
Or else I'm sure we would've tried
A little more at least
Because I don't believe this was how it was supposed to end
We weren't supposed to just stop talking
Ignore the separation, let it kill us
But we did....
And just like that, enemies form
Somehow loosing something I never had was more heartbreaking than loosing something I did
