Ordering Business Cards - Useful Tips

Info

Are you an entrepreneur planning on ordering his/her first business card? Cards are sometimes termed as mini-billboards carried around in the wallet. They let you advertise yourself along with order business cards your services or the organization you represent. But most importantly, a business card is like your recognition of who you are.

While you are trying to decide on the design and other important aspects of your business card, you need to consider a few things. As the situation is today, entrepreneurs do make mistakes by ordering too much or ending up saying too little into the small space allotted for describing their specifications.

Consistency

Let us assume that the business card you are planning on producing is merely a part of the total package which includes key issues like letterhead, envelopes or postcards and so on. It's really important that different integral features like colors, fonts or imagery are in balance with among themselves.

CHEAP = DULL

Take a few moments for pulling out the stack of business cards that you collected for many years. Take apart the ones which are appealing against the ones which are blah. Chances are high that there'll be blackish print on whitish card stock.

So lots of card ordering people follow this route just because the black & white is much cheaper. At the other end of the spectrum, there are people who consider adding a rich splash of vivid colors. Unfortunately though, the latter group might as well end up with ineffective and dull cards.

Do you really wish that your card stands out? Then you have to consider printing your card in a unique, yet interesting color. Or you can consider adding an interesting theme to the current black & white design. It's hard for most of the entrepreneurs to imagine the huge impact of putting that extra cost to the design and printing of cards.

Another fatal mistake entrepreneurs end up with is going for some sort of card stock, which hardly holds up over time. Lots of those so called DIY kits belong to this category. These kits come with light-weight stock, which might actually feed through typical home printers. Sounds pretty odd though, but the main reason they make the letters so light weight is because the makers of these lightweight kits want to make sure that the printed cards pass out easily through the printers.

Additionally, such cards have special perforated edges that are torn off 8-1/2x11 sheets. The messages they communicated to recipients is - these cards were home-made and do not belong to professional grade.

TOO MUCH INFO TOO SMALL SPACE

Did you ever receive a card which caused you to practically squint for reading all those contents? Similarly, did any of those cards inside your collection come with additional content that you do not need to know for making a decision?

So when you're ordering for your business cards, avoid using any itty-bitty fonts that cram too print greeting cards much of data in the space. You by no means, want to put too much of work on the reader, since it will get your card to be practically thrown out.
