I was in love with him
And that was all I ever did
But love is never enough
One sided love is always tough

To love but not to expect
Only rejection, to collect
I wished to be loved by him
Nothing killed me more than this thing

I tried not to show my love
But can love ever be bluffed?
It was hard to be 'just friends'
I knew my love had to end

I thought love was about happiness
But all I ever got was sadness
I got heartbreak and not love
All I had was the idea of 'us'

He gave me hopes and then shattered them
All my fears were originated then
Fear to love, fear to trust
What he did to me was cruel and unjust

They say time heals everything
But it wasn't just a teenage fling
One needs to fix oneself
So now I just love myself
