Paperweight
My world was gloomy and full of cryptic monsters until you came along
A buzz cut and tattoo on my wrist and you still taught me how to be strong
You believed in me when no one else did and even sang me a song
You take me places I’ve never been and we would ride the skyline all day long
Walking back and forth and still, I wasn’t in my normal state
I was like a restless paper without a paperweight
With a messed up mind and unusual heart rate
I didn’t know how to turn my feelings to moderate
When you found me, you were always there to somehow humanize me
But now that you’re gone, I don’t even know who I’m supposed to be
You’d lift me up from my dark thoughts that’s drowning me in a dead sea
And stop me from doing bad things to bad people that prey on me
I met you at the wrong place and the wrong time
Otherwise, I’d still be yours and you’d still be mine
I can’t keep pretending every day that everything is fine
When all I do is think about our hands that were once intertwined
I was a restless paper and you were the paperweight on my back
But now, it’s like you’re nothing but a mere flashback
