Parking Tickets

Recently, waking up is a bit difficult

Most mornings are tumbling boulders

from a mountain of yesterday’s failures

crumbling for a wake-up call

Dear Life,

No need for a reminder

I already know

Lately, I’ve been failing a lot

like a parking lot ticket

in desperate need of validation

Falling short of what it needs

to make it through

It’s rough

Like the road I’m stranded on,

planted on island filled by people

but still there are days I feel alone

Yet even though sorrow

keeps making unwelcome visits

I’m still me

Nothing has change

Dear Life,

The same as before,

there’s no need for a reminder

I have no need for saving

I already know

There will be a better tomorrow

Dear you,

All I ask is please have patience,

If it seem like it’s too dark,

keep searching for the light
