Father,
You told me,
Situations arise, whether big or small,
Intellect and effort will triumph it all,
Care to tell me, why on this day-
I would rather find myself in another way?
My dear friend trying his best to cope,
Putting enormous efforts, having considerable hope-
Despaired with the farrago of consequences-
Ended his strife to the rope.
Seeing this in me, thoughts arose,
Instead of useless honesty, what if we chose-
A path of darkness? -This friend of mine
Would’ve found himself in a better branch of time.
Still trying to fight a losing crusade –
Amidst the masque of a blinding cascade,
Seeing our honest measures becoming ineffective,
We judge the world with a more cynical perspective.
In this supposed battle, long have we fought,
So much, that out dreams’ starting to rot.
Facing failure in its different allotropes,
If despairs’ destiny, what’s the need for hope?
Deeds committed sinned, yet consequences divine;
Methods implemented adverse, yet results yielded fine,
At a clash of ideologies here we stand,
At either side of this No Man’s land.
Circumstances threaten, but have no fear!
Despair’s persistent but the end is near,
Living a lie, having lost all hope,
We too can see it end, at the rope.
