There she is a familiar face
Staring from the depths of identical illusions
A visage I've seen a million times before
Showing me flaws as mere imperfections.
Why does it appear so Herculean
That the selfsame be candidly flawed
That the flaws remain unloved
Like weeds in a immaculate lawn.
But at the same time a thought arose
Don't these flaws provide an identity
An individuality for the world to see
A singular difference that is sui generis
Self-criticism is a harsh judgement
It dwindles our self worth and esteem
Is it right to abase ourselves
When the world itself is crying itself to sleep
Cherish dearly your quirky idiosyncrasy
You are a beautiful diamond in the rough
Love yourself more than love itself
Your self worth will never be judged.
