She Thought He was Enough

She thought he was enough, and that's when the heavens gave her another man who was more than enough. She loved the first man, that's what she believed; he would travel miles just to be with her whenever he could, and she loved him for that. But she loved the second man, that's what she found out, when he takes her out for a walk and an ice cream one random evening, when he's one text message away from eating with her for lunch, when he holds her hand when they cross the street as he walks her home, when he hugs her and kisses the top of her head before she goes, and all the other little things he does adds to the list that makes her love him even more.

She thought he was enough, but when the heavens gave her this man who was more than enough, she knew who she had to choose. She loved the first man, and she loved him for so long. But it seemed like it wasn't love anymore. The second man came and proved in a short while how she's been settling for less than what she wanted, less than what she deserved. The first man wasn't enough, but she promised to hold on hoping the uncertain was worth the wait - not until the second man told her that he would catch her once she lets go of it.

She told him he was a lot better than the man she decided to leave, but he told her she didn't know what she said; he told her on their very first date what his vices were and how messy he lives his life sometimes. But she trusted him even more after being told these - he definitely isn't perfect, she thought, but he's been proving how he's actually more than enough.
