Method 1 - Close conflicting programs

Runtime errors are caused by programs conflicting with one another. Stop conflicting programs first to fix the problem.

Click Ctrl+Alt+Del to open Task Manager. This will allow you to see the current list of running programs.

Click the Processes tab to stop each program one at a time by clicking on the End Process button below.

Using the Control Panel

Windows 7 users can click the Start Button and then click Control Panel. Then click Uninstall to uninstall a program

Windows 8 users can click the Start Button. Scroll down to click More Settings. Then click Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.

Windows 10: Type Control Panel in the search box, click on the result, and then click Uninstall.

Click on the problem program to open Programs and Features. Then click Update or Uninstall.

If you choose to update, you'll just need to follow the prompts to finish the process. However, if you choose to uninstall, you will be prompted to uninstall the program and then redownload it or use its installation disk to reinstall it.

You can also use other methods

Windows 7 users can find the list of all installed programs by clicking Start. Scroll your mouse over the list to see the tab. The program's uninstall utility may be displayed on the list. You can proceed to uninstall the program using the utilities in this tab. Windows 10 users can click Start, then Settings, and then Apps.

Scroll down to view the list of apps and features that you have installed on your computer.

You can click on the Program that is causing the error to uninstall it or choose Advanced options to reset it.
