THE CAKE-CUT

I was looking at few random pictures clicked few years ago... 

"After a long hectic day of work i reached home.  My life.... in the recent days had gone a lot of changes which were too sudden and unexpected. I tried adjusting to the new job culture. The job role was something I choose but I had to adjust with the travel involved in it.

My new house is all set just the way i wished. Even though it wasn't a luxurious one I was comfortable living alone. It was a start of a new chapter in my life where I was becoming totally independent and exploring the new phase of life.

After 15 days of all the changes in my life, one sudden day my friends reminded me about my birthday which was couple of days away. I was bit sad and not at all in a mood to have any celebrations as this was the first time i was away from my family and i needed time to adjust to the changes taking place around me.

On the eve of Christmas I get a call from my would-be saying he was in town and wanted to meet me after work since he wanted to make up for cancelling the plan we made a month ago. He was so busy with his work that I was sure he wouldn't have remembered that it was a special day for me the very next day.

We went for dinner and started talking talking how life was. Suddenly his phone rang and he excused himself for taking the call which made me think he wouldn't be returning for the next 30 minutes. 

When the clock stuck 11:55 there he was with a cake wishing me "Happy Birthday." I was overwhelmed with joy and then he continued " the day i would never forget to thank your parents for bringing you to this world"

At that movement nothing mattered. The presence of a single person changed everything. I felt I was with my whole family. Even though we sat for hours in silence I realized there can be a lot way to communicate without words. This was the best birthday I had with the person of my life sitting next beside me.......  

That's how the best things happen in your life to make it special... " 

My mom ended thus story behind the pictures in the album and asked me to go to bed.
