With each inhale, frenzied blood cells dump their oxygen before going forth to feast. A dulled tingling runs across my chest; nerve endings weep in the carnage, unanswered. Ravenous, the cells course through their vessel, until they sink their teeth into my soma, and relax. Sleepy, sluggish, swollen, they spew forth the gaseous soma; nourishment from my soul.
With each exhale, I watch the suspended vapours, glistening in the moonlight, drifting away. Hollowed out, like an unstuffed animal, I lay there, wishing to be filled by something, anything. And yet, I don't feel saddened by this; I feel nothing. Devoid of the emotions digested moments ago, the numbness provides soulless solace.
As I drift way, I can't decide whether this is symbiotic or parasitic; is this cleansing or killing me?
Would the upthrust cause rust? Buoyant bliss but a near miss; an object in free-fall feels no weight
