The Imperfect Love

Love is a very powerful emotion. Love or real love isn't some chemical cocktail we experience. It begins after the effects of the cocktail have worn off. True Love makes us go the distance to be with the person we care about the most, whom we desire to be with and the feeling we get when we are with that person.
          The person we love may not always be the best person for us or the perfect person. They may not even be our soulmate. As long as we want to be be with them where we feel we can be ourselves, that is love. It goes beyond attraction and passion. It can turn even the most evil person into a saint.
            What if the person we love isn't good enough for us? What if that person is the one due to whom we are experiencing pain and yet still love them? Are we still willing to give up everything for them in the name of love?
         Well that depends. If that person is willing to give up all that to be with you then you should support them. If that person reciprocates the same feelings as you albeit with less enthusiasm then hold on to them.
             We don't choose whom we love, we don't. It just happens. We fell in love with them. There's no crime in that. We never stopped loving them. From the moment we set our eyes upon them to the moment we were with them. Every moment of it. Every second. We cherished it. If true love then means letting go of them we might as well do just that because we are in love with them.
       When love makes you go on a journey or a quest to get them, then go for it. Enjoy that journey. Every part of it. Sometimes, the journey is more important than the destination. After you reach the other side, you will be a different person from the time you began it. The reward at the end may not be much promising but remember in the end, love is what lasts forever. Ultimately you got what you asked for. When you want it then the universe will make it happen. That is the true power of love.
