A cruel world it is indeed

For those who try are shunned

Forced into isolation

Declared a mistake by that Faceless Crowd

This mass society which spares no one

“Thou shall not live freely”

Carry you will these chains and shackles

Stick to the norm or be buried next dawn

Down the drain goes Individuality

All ye dreamers beware

Beware for they lurk everywhere

Leaching away your very joy for life

A spark of thought, a melody of art

All extinguished in the fumes of normalcy

But to all ye free spirits out there I say

“You are the round pegs in the square holes”

The oddities, the black sheep of the nation

Ignite that spark, dance to the melody

Set ablaze this pale sheet of conformity

Rise from the ashes flaming bright

Wrestle with your soul

Let it bleed on paper

Let your hands commit a sin

And do your heart a favour
