The other me

Dear other me in the alternate universe,

Hello there, other me. I bet you are everything I’ve been wishing for. I know that somewhere, somehow, you are alive and living my impossible dream.

You are the most beautiful in class, the liked one, the person you can never forget. You do embarrassing things but for them, it would look cute unlike here in mine that I look a lot like a voodoo doll with extra fabrics that makes me look bloated and stuffed and I am always irritating to look at.

I bet most of the guys liked your presence. You are fun, bright, exciting, adorable and loveable while I am stuck here in this world being stupid, gloomy, paranoid and vexing.

I always wished for myself to be happy. I know you are. I know you have it all, the dreams I have right now. You are living the life I have always wished for, the life where I am free to be me, free to stop doing the things I am supposed to do and instead doing the things I want to do.

In that world you wouldn’t be sitting in a gloomy corner scribbling endless words of poetry and instead you are out there showing people that you are talented when it comes to sports and people are admiring you because you are downright amazing.

In that world, you are not crying because you are ugly, you are crying because you just won in the art competition you joined in. I bet your drawings are better than anyone else.

You are not mediocre and boring, you’re extraordinary and fascinating. You sing better than anybody else and you don’t let criticism pull you down.

You don’t cut your beautiful skin, you nourish it and proudly flaunt it for everyone to see how much attractive you are. You are not afraid of people judging you because you know to yourself what you are and what you can be.

I bet in that world, he loves you back. Because even if I think that here in my life, I am a despondent girl, I am holding on to the chance that I am destined to be with him even in the alternate part of the universe. That somehow, somewhere, we could be.

He brings you roses, he doesn’t show a sign of revolt when he looks at you and instead, he gives you the look an in love person would give.

The alternate universe is called the parallel universe for a reason. I came to the realization that two parallel lines never cross or meet and your life is a life I will never experience and my life is a life you’d never have.
