The Preacher and The Lady

"At last I'm done with all the work for today!"

Sunday night is the best night for ministers like me. Unlike other profession, weekends aren't rest for us. By Saturday, we have to go to our outreaches, master our sermon for tomorrow, visit sick members, attend church meetings, etc. Like my fellow ministers, teachers and pastors, I'm fully loaded especially on Sundays.

"Perhaps I could use a little coffee before sleeping." This is one of my quirks; drinking coffee before going to bed. I took up a book and begin reading from where I've left it as I sip my coffee. "This is the best!" Time flew so fast and its already 12:00. "I can't believe it's already this late. Well, at least I'm halfway done with the book." I closed the book and turned the lights off when I heard a noise like a broken glass or something. I was startled. The sound came from the kitchen. I quickly turned the lights on.

"Oh my God! I need help, oh my God!"

The kitchen window was broken and there lying by the floor a lady covered with blood. "What am I supposed to do!? Oh, the police! I need to call the police!"

As I dial the police's hotline, the lady started to move. She rose up slowly and as she draw near to me, I forgot the police and even how to breathe for a few seconds.

"Don't call anyone. I'm Maria and I need your help." said the mysterious woman.

I observe her figure, eyes were green, hair reaching her waist, oval face, medium build and about five feet and six inches tall. "You're...pretty." I said, almost whispering.
