I looked to my left and stared at our classroom’s door. I’m standing outside because I am late, that was 3:00 in the afternoon, the end of the class. I’m hearing noises so I sneaked in, I saw my best friends Juliet talking to Marie that was sitting next to Alex. Only the four of us were inside the room.
I came near them. They are laughing so I laughed too even though I don’t understand what they are talking about, maybe someone had started a joke. Juliet opens her bag and looks like she’s finding something – her phone. “Girls, fix yourself, let’s take groupie.” She said. So I find my spot to be included in the picture. “Marie, get off your hands on me! As if you are lightweight.” Alex said with a teasing tone. “Uhm, Hello? My newly manicured hands are here.” Marie showed her fingers proudly at us. Alex looked back, she stared at me, I smiled at her but she turned her head quickly “Okay girls, let’s slay this one.” Juliet said to us.
We took so many shots. As Juliet is reviewing our photos, she’s smiling while looking at those epic pictures but she stopped at one photo, she looks at it carefully, zoomed it in and zoomed it out. They looked at my place, Juliet faced her camera at me and took another shot. Juliet lost grip on her phone. She started to cry, she’s pointing her finger at me while saying “There she is, there she is…” Alex and Marie turned their head on me. They freaked out, they all screaming, crying. I’ve asked them many times of what’s going on but they don’t answer me. I’m starting to be annoyed at them. They tried to escape the classroom but I’m fast enough to close the door, I want to know what’s happening but their voices got louder and louder. They covered one another like a little kid trying to hide but the only place they have is in the corner. Now I’m crying too.
“Why don’t you just leave? Go away! Please!” Marie exclaimed at me. I was crashed knowing that they don’t want me. I’m trying to hold my tears but it’s just too heavy to carry. They quickly left the room. Juliet forgot to pick her phone, I picked it to see what they saw in the picture. I saw a lady wearing the same uniform of us covered with blood. The blood is flowing from her head, her half face was bruised, her eyes are clearly in tears, and the bone on her right knee is exposed with some flesh on it. I cannot recognize who she is. There’s a cry. Someone is crying inside the room. In the front row. There she is. I draw on her side and the girl was… it was me. I saw myself trying to call Marie, Alex, and Juliet but no one answered. I felt the pain, the sadness, the madness, the mourning and being torn apart; I felt them all again.
I just kept on watching myself. I stood, took the upstairs. I followed myself - at the rooftop. She was standing at the edge of the building. She shouts for a moment, she’s mad, she felt that she’s been abandoned. I tried to stop her, I mean myself. But she jumped. I looked at myself straight from the rooftop of that 5th-floor building. Lying on the ground, broken legs, facing the floor. Witnessing my own death, kills me again. I stepped back. Now I know why I jumped, no one is there when I needed someone to lean on. I wept the loudest that I can. “Why?” That is the only question that I needed to be answered. Why is no one there? Why? Out of a sudden, it’s me again with my own consciousness, standing at the edge of the building.
Why is no one there for me?
Now they are praying for me, but it can’t help me. What I want is - I want them to be with me.
