To the woman he now loves,

I am his past. I loved him but it was a failure. I cared for him but it wasn’t enough. I was never enough; I was never the woman he wished he could have loved. Maybe he knew he deserved to meet someone like you in the future and now he just did. He met you and love you and you love him too.

And it broke my heart at first.

It splashed a painful grief in me – I cried and endured in so many sleepless nights, my pillows were soaked with the tears I shed. The rain that agonizes with me with the angry thunder screaming – they witnessed how I sympathize for my own heartbreak.

Take care of him. Sit with him on his silent times, because those times are rare. Hold his hand and keep him warm. I know he loves you more than he loved me. I have accepted that fact and I’m well-aware how happy he is with you, I saw it in his eyes, saw how much he have forgotten the pain we both shared when we left each other. I saw how glad he is when he found a new love. And that new love is you.

Keep him forever.

Smile for him every day, he needs to see you’re okay. Laugh with him. Don’t make him cry because when he does, it really breaks him apart. He’s not the most handsome man you’ll meet but he’s the best. Appreciate the little things from him. Appreciate him. Love him. Love him every second.
