To the world that was mine

To the world that was mine!

Days morphed in months and then came the years,

One after the other, slowly but steadily

the only constant that remained reminding my fears

Was the unbroken symphony of your absence.

I wonder sometimes, do I even exist in your thoughts?

Does a certain song, or a certain lane or a certain sign on a bill board remind you of me?

Does it flood your memory with fondness?

Do you ever wonder- how it would have been, had it not been for the way it is?

That one last evening had taken away the meaning of my existence somewhere.

My endless search to find you around begins every morning afresh and sets every night as droplets of tears seal them together

My infidel soul finishes every story in your name,

Man, you have surpassed the levels of importance.

The idea of love and the pain of rejection have found a coexistence

Holding you safe in my heart, I yet cannot look into my own eyes.

For my eyes may give-in and leave me devastated once again.

For in my eyes I hold that universe that was the world to me.
