It was beckoning me
Into the dark unknown,
Telling me to come in-
To take a step-
To run away from the world
That screamed of nothing but
My worthlessness.
I take a step,
Then another-
In hopes that perhaps
This escape would finally-
Finally, set me free.
But then the moment
That I inched closer
And the darkness touched my finger,
It so violently pulled me in,
And without a chance to look back,
To shout for help,
Or to even gasp for air,
I fell-
And continued falling
Down a seemingly endless pit
Where hands shot from everywhere
To pull me down,
Where the voices unceasingly whispered-
Almost chanting-
“JUST DIE.”
