Waiting

She walked down the stairs and opened the front door, making sure that she looks fine- her hair, her dress and her shoes. She walked out and sat on the front steps,  and fixed her sight to the gates and imagined him walking in. She had companions with her for waiting and keeping her up. The wind swayed through her brown hair, giving her hope that he would arrive soon. The flowers tilted sideways with the wind as if they too were eagerly waiting for him. Time moved on but her patience and longing didn't. Finally, the sun was about to come down. She rose and tidied her frock and gave one last look to the gates.

Nothing.

But she smiled, walked back and thought, "I'm sure, he'll be here tomorrow. "
