What does love feel like?

She had never been in love

She had countless crushes

But they never progressed

They never grew into love.

She had never been loved

Yes, there were a few

Who confessed their liking

But they never pushed through

They only liked - but never loved.

She was always careful with her heart

Always filtering, always too smart.

Maybe love was meant to have a bit of foolishness

But she had standards and didn't tolerate nonsense.

She would only give her heart to someone who truly loved her

Someone whom she could exchange hearts with

For if she gave her heart and didn't get one back

She would be left heartless, loveless. 

They said not to search for it would come

But where would that person come from?

What if they were from two different worlds?

She was beginning to think they would never meet

Or maybe they've crossed paths in the streets

how would she recognize him? 

She really wants to know what love feels like

No one has come to love her

And she has no one to love.

She has friends and family

But that's a different kind of love.

She loves herself truly

But again, that's a different kind of love.

She has felt all kinds of love

But never romantic love

And that's what she wants - romantic love.
