Why?

Why do people have to promise things? A promise of love, a promise for the future. To say things that you once dreamed of. A happy family. A loving partner. A content life.  Why do people have to promise things they can't keep? I love you and I will always be by your side, but in time they all leave. Why?

Why do people tend to stay for a moment? To make you the happiest person alive. To make you feel that you are the most loved woman. To make you realize that you are the luckiest man. Why do people tend to stay for a moment, then leave as if nothing really happened? Is that really necessary? Am I really that worthless? Why?

Why do people have to give you hope? A hope for the future. A hope for another chance. Why do people have to give you hope that one person out there will have to accept you for who you really are. That 1 out of the 7 billion people in the world will love all your flaws and imperfections, your past scars, and your insecurities. But why do they tend to break the hope they gave you? Why?

Why do people have to be in love? Why do we have to feel the greatest? And yet, so suddenly, be at our lowest? It is said to be the greatest feeling a man could ever feel. This surpasses all hardships and struggles. Love makes you do things. Things you thought you could never do. Break rules and conquer fears. But why? Why just for a moment?

Why do people have to feel pain? After all the happiness and extraordinary feels, why do people have to feel pain? All the heartaches and heartbreaks. All the mourning and missing. Why can't we escape to just being numb? Why can't we choose? Why do we have to feel pain? It hurts. Why do we have to endure?

Why can't people stay? Why can't just people be with the ones they love? I know changes, the loss of spark and interest. I know uncertainty, about people thinking if you're really the one. But why can't just people fight? Why can't people make things work? Why do they have to leave? After all what all of you have been through. Why do people still choose to leave?

It's selfishness, screams the broken heart.

You make me feel things and you make me numb again. Why? Why do you have to do that?
