an open letter to people thinking being fair means being beautiful.
i am tanned, i have been tanned all my life. I remember crying over my colour because few stupid kids teased me for my skin colour. i remember being called ugly by my relatives, because fair is beauty isn't it. let me tell you something, I love my skin colour now! I am in love with this tanned skin tone i have, and i am never going back to hating it again.
do you know how stupid a person sound when they talk about fairness as a standard of beauty, i feel like to punch that person in the face to be honest. its not their fault i guess, they are raised by such senseless logic. beauty, true beauty is just being your true self, being confident in your own skin, and spreading positive vibes. I can't believe how can people literally compare a person to another on the basis of how light someone's skin is? like really? its disgusting. if you are someone who has ever told someone about how bad they look because they are not fair, be ashamed of yourself!
to the girls, who are tanned like me. who are dark, who have a wheatish complexion, who are basically not snow whites! because society have a lot of names for being anti snow whites! you are beautiful just the way you are. i am no one to tell you this actually, but trust me the amount of melanin in your skin doesn't define your beauty. you are an amazing piece of art, just be proud of your skin tone. so many pale skin people literally die to have complexion like ours dude! lets slay this beautiful brown skin we have and let the people die in their own imagination of fairness.
i know people who have literally done nothing in life, they have failed many times in life, they have done absolutely nothing and they believe being fair is an achievement for them. beauty is what we all crave for, being light skin is not an achievement. being a good person, being a kind person is. and i dont mean people who are pale or fair are not beautiful, all i meant is, you dont have to be fair to be beautiful. just be you
so, to the people who will still not stop letting people down on the basis of their skin colour, kindly dig a hole and step into it. thank you.
