You and Me, Just in Theory

Background:

The hypothetical set of all the possible universes, including the one we live in, is called a multiverse.

In this multiverse, there exists a number of universes called “parallel universes”.

Theory:

Now, what if, in our universe, any 2 persons who are similar to each other and like each other, are nothing but shadows of a single person in that ‘parallel universe’.

The light source in that ‘parallel universe’ is placed such that, the shadow of that single person (source) gets divided in 2 parts. One shadow falls above the spectrum and the other falls under the spectrum. Due to some unknown distortion in the medium, the shadows get altered a bit, and thus, one shadow is called ‘male’ and the other one is called ‘female’ (In most cases, not all distortions are the same!).

The 2 shadows find each other similar only because they belong to the same ‘source’ placed far away. The mutual liking between the 2 shadows is solely because, the ‘source’ in the parallel universe is egoistic and can love no one else other than itself.

The 2 shadows meet each other, in our universe, only for a brief period of time, because the position of that ‘light source’ is regularly changing, much like our ‘sun’, only it follows an unpredictable pattern.

The 2 shadows, on our side of the universe, can meet each other permanently and converge into one, only if the ‘light source’ in that ‘parallel universe’ collapses entirely and there is permanent darkness everywhere, or, the ‘source’ to which the 2 shadows belong gets killed somehow.

Either way, the happy ending in our universe might be a sad ending for someone in that ‘parallel universe’.

Still, I wish, somehow You and Me could be together forever, even if it’s just in theory.
