It’s Valentine. The so-called day of love.

I won’t talk about chocolates and flowers or hugs and kisses.

I’ll tell you about one of the most beautiful love stories.

The story of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha,

And even when they didn’t marry each other,

How their love for each other had always been eternal.

They had been young,

And they fell in love,

Oblivious to the future that waited ahead.

Krishna, endowed with godly powers,

And Radha, a simple girl with little dreams.

How, when everyone was awestruck

With his endeavours,

Krishna had never been divine,

But nothing more

Than a three year younger,

naughty little boy for her.

It’s heart-breaking,

How

Time and people,

Drove them apart.

How Krishna had to go,

To fulfil his destiny and

Bring the dawn of a new age.

Had they not sacrificed each other,

And lived a life easy and beautiful for them,

The world would have never come to believe that

Good always won over the evil.

How she knew,

That the world needed Krishna,

More than she did,

And how she rightfully knew

That love was something

much greater than possession.

And It’s so beautiful

And yet so sad,

How Krishna promised Radha,

Wether they ended up together

Or not

For eons to come,

Her name

Will always be taken with him

and before his.

And even though Krishna

Never denied anyone

Of love

is known to have married

All who truly loved him.

I love the way

How even after

All those 16000 wives,

And thousands of years ahead

we still refer to them

As ‘Radhakrishna.'
