A friend, maybe?

So, everyone wants someone to love. In a romantic way. Someone to give them the butterflies. The heartwarming kisses. Someone To care for them. But, in a romantic way.

Now imagine wanting a Friend. A friend who listens to you at any moment of the day. A friend to give you the never ending, the "I'm always here", the "everything is going to be okay", hugs. A friend who never gives up on you. A friend who sets aside their ego once in awhile because you are more important to them. A friend who knows your family and talks to them like their own. A friend who gives you the first priority. A friend who loves you, not in a Romantic way, but something much more than that. Imagine wanting all this from that one person. And now, imagine that the person already has someone like this in their life. Someone who is not you.
And also, it can never be you. And you know this so well, that you don't even want to try.
You listen to them talk about that someone like they are their world. Their everything. You sit there, smiling, genuinely happy for them because that someone lights up their world like nobody else. But at the back of your mind, you sit there wishing that, that someone was you.
Sucks, right? 
I'll tell you.
It's fucking heartbreaking.
But you smile, because that's all you can do. You smile, because you love them and all you want is to see them happy.
