A Lover From The Past

I woke up with an unknown yet familiar feeling. As if he was there. As if we once spent lives together.

He appeared out of nowhere in my room. He was standing near my favorite spot--my chair. We locked a gaze. He was unknown to me, yet I felt at home. I felt safe in his steady yet loving gaze. 

He approached me while we're still holding our gaze. I know myself well enough but I don't know what happened. I eventually gave in---to a stranger who felt like home. He kissed me in the lips. It felt real. It felt warm. We then went back wandering in each others eyes and my heart broke. It's as if we once spent our lives together. 

I said," Please don't leave me."

He replied," Don't worry. Your new lover is about to come."

He held a smile that had a constant place in my heart that I never knew existed.

He then vanished into thin air, leaving my heart into pieces.

I woke up. I tried to grasp my breath. I tear clouded on my left eye. I realized it was just a dream. I never knew I could feel this way.

Maybe reincarnations do exist. Maybe he was my 'past' lover. Maybe he always filled a void in my heart. Maybe our red string once intertwined. Maybe, as what he said, my new lover would come. Maybe.
