Days of gold

I was a kid back then.
My life used to be as bright as the sun,
Dreams used to bloom like lilies in my heart.
My hopes were high,my inside hardly cried,
Bliss ruled my world, no sorrow dared peek in.
I had the perfect childhood ever.
The time of my life, I realise.
What not did I learn? What not did I truly enjoy?
From standing on my feet for the first time ever
To taking my first steps on the terrace.
I walked, I messed up, I tripped over,I fell on my face,
But I always had someone,
Someone who pulled me up after I'd fall down,
Someone who showed me the paths, the roads
And walked them down alongside me.
Empathy was there, love was there
What more could i need to have?
Every passing day,added more life to my life,
Togetherness flowed in the air around,
Sunny stars, crescent moons,
Glowed every night in the sky under my roof.
I used to stare tight at them till I slept
How I wished to touch that star one day
That star up above the sky,
Blanketed by the clouds,still gleaming through,
Fantasizing thoughts used to put me to sleep
No room for miseries, existed in my little head
Is this what you call happiness?

To every soul, childhood's a true magical phenomena.
I cherish the memories,
I savour the child hidden deep inside.
