discovering ME

Name, pronounced as /neim/ means a word or set of words by which a person or thing is known, addressed or referred to.

what value does your name hold to you?

This question can trick many of us. Not many would have thought about it before.

It took me years to know its answer. Why? because the answer held many questions in itself. Confused?

"Don't i earn enough for us?"

"Why do you want to work after marriage?"

"What more do you expect me to offer?"

"What will you accomplish with a job?"

Few questions which were asked out of love pierced through me like a million arrows. Looking for answer, struggling through the chaos and with lots of  self-doubt I, somehow landed a job for myself. Its been years since i graduated and when I was busy raising my child, the world had developed in silence.

It seemed like a new world in all, nothing seems the same.

Each time when they called my name, i learned a new thing at work. But most important, it reminded me of what I was missing through these years and what I could be in coming years.It took me years to lose and yet find 'me'.

Mom, honey are sweet and comfy but hearing my name being called gave me individuality. Reminded me of who I am and what I could be.

Coming back to work after all these years I learnt the answer to a vital question: "How much can you lose to know how much it meant to you?"
