Distance

The worst part about distance is you don't know if they'll miss you or forget about you.

They met unexpectedly
She remember it clearly like it was yesterday.
They were so happy back then
They often go out,
Talk about nonsense things,
Tell some jokes,
And enjoy each other's company

Until one night he ask her if he could talk to her privately
It's weird cause he don't usually ask her to go out when it's dark already
He said he have something important to discuss with her urgently

"What is it?" She said
"Well... I'm.." he said
"What?" She said eagerly
"I'm leaving this city.." he said sadly

She don't know what to feel that time,
Why is he saying this to her in the first place?
What are they?
They're not lovers
But he's treating her like they're more than just friends

That conversation never had a conclusion
Cause they're both occupied by confusion
Confuse of what are they
Confuse if they should continue
Confuse of what they must do
Confuse if what they have is really true

As days are passing by he became sweeter
When she's cold he even lend his sweater
He'll even use his handkerchief to wipe her sweats
Until one day he even say that he will come back here for her and that's a swear.

He said he loves her
Then he hug her
She simply said that she can't return the same feelings yet
But he smile and said that he will wait

The day came when he left her
They still keep on talking through phone
They were contented to their set up
And every time one of them is down they cheer each other up

But one day their conversation became colder
She don't know if it's her and her attitude the problem
Or him that's lacking affection to what they have
Or it's just the distance between them that's keeping them apart?

She became colder cause she thought he'd care
But every time they fight he just say "talk to you later"
She don't know if he's just letting her calm down
Or he just simply didn't care about them even if she's already down

Why should he care right? We're not lovers, she thought to herself
She said that she would wait for him even though she knew this
That they're somewhere in between lovers and friends
She settled for less that's why she end up like this

Days came by and he asked her
"Will you still wait for me?"
She said "yes, but i won't promise that I'll only stick to you"
Then he simply say "ok, i understand. I'll talk to you later"
And that's the last conversation they had

Don't settle for less
Don't be contented if you don't have a label
Don't be calm even if he said that he loves you cause until when will he loves you?
Don't believe in his promises if he's not doing anything
