Hide them
The prick, the burn,
the wound, the pain
Hide them
Let the back of your mind
Be their repository,
their void,
their universe,
Where they remain
Hide them
As you were born to be hidden
From acceptance, acknowledgment
love, life and gain
Hide them
Your thoughts, your grief
Your pain, and disdain
18 years provided you
with the mastery
Of Hiding
Hide them
When your eyes betray you
"Are you okay?"
Face them
Face unfazed
And break into a wee
forced smile
Or make it a little
wider
Just a little wider
Hide them
All your pain,
They must not be seen
Eighteen taught you
To smile
Coz smiling would make
it easier than to explain
Hide them
Yes, you can hide them
But,
Until when?
This one is for all who met the person who used to be their universe at the very unexpected setting.
