"Facing the Improbabilities of Life"

Have you ever gone to that deep part of your mind where you think about all the probabilities, negativity, and everything in between? That’s what happens when you start to wonder about life.

As a student, with 365 days in a year, most of it are taken up by school activities. Attending classes with a limited attention span for your mind has a habit of wandering around. Don’t you just hate it how the education system works when it comes to teaching in solving a certain problem like 1+1 is equal to 2. But when during the examination day, the problem would go… 

Given that speed is equal to distance over time, while eating a cheeseburger, 

a.) Calculate the probability of Einstein’s theory of the speed of light not being constant. 

b.) What came before the Big Bang? 

And that little-seven-letter word that punches you hard in the gut, “explain.” 

You’d sit in your chair, stare at your test paper that makes you want to throw in the trash for it seems to be the best optimal solution, and loathe the teacher because the exam wasn’t what was discussed. Then, you’ll go home and watch the TV series you’ve downloaded for days and then maybe you’ll start working on a pile of assignments that has been waiting on your desk to be done. And as you write the words you’re copying on Google, you become lethargic. The concept of assignments no longer have its significance. Instead of enhancing one’s intellect there won’t be any academic advancement for your brain is too tired to function and therefore, all will be for naught. 

This doesn’t end here. A person spends half of his life on education. And one’s fate is like a True-or-False question. There’s a 50-50 percent chance on guessing the right answer. You can work hard all you want, go to one of the biggest universities but let’s be honest, there is NO guarantee that you will land on that perfect job you’ve always dreamed of. In the real world, there are many who just sits in their homes, cleaning on the streets, washing the dishes for a job. The cruel part is that, most of these people have been in the same process we are all going through and some even have their own degrees.

Even before the day a person was conceived, everything was or has been uncertain. Life is full of questions. It may give hints and signals but not all answers will be provided. Like the teacher lecturing about the basics of mathematics then gives out questionnaires that would lose one’s sanity. Life has taught us the basics of living: how to behave, interact, and etc but it doesn’t tell one that what the future holds for him is to become a billionaire. You might be a doctor who saves lives or a beggar asking for alms on the entrance and exit doorways of a supermarket.

We will lose a lot in the process of achieving success. But success is not for everybody. ‘Cause if it was, the word would be deemed insignificant and should no longer be in existence. In life we need to make sacrifices, exchanging our wants for our needs to be acquired. And how relationships diffuse like spraying perfume in the air then seconds later the traces of that sweet fragrance can no longer be sensed. Many may wish you well but remember more are wishing you hell. For the bigger you become the greater the force of gravitational attraction. When you are on top and doing great in life, jealous eyes and judgmental minds won’t let you get away without throwing rocks of criticisms to pull you down.

If you believe that one’s fate has already been decided, then go with the flow. But if you don’t, strop being afraid, step up, dream, do what it takes to achieve a series of success. For this will will increase your chances of succeeding. And yes, you will lose a lot and face countless of failures in the process, you just have to weigh which matters more. Choose what stays and what goes. Then, think, decide and act. Wait for the moment when you kiss that sweet dream as it becomes your possession.
