I always thought if I ever will;
If it ever could;
If we ever should.
But then I wasn't sure if you ever did;
If you ever would;
Or if we ever could.
It used to be much simpler before,
When I was normal
And you weren't so formal.
We seemed to be more "us" before,
When you were willing
And I was reeling.
But then is when I was unsure.
Because I was too scared
And I do now, dread.
You never showed any signs or symbols
And I thought of it never.
So, best friends forever?
I know, for sure, that you see what we've done.
Now you stay mum,
And I'll play dumb!
I promise to fade away from your life.
I know that I shouldn't
And I probably couldn't.
But if I can and I will one day,
Then I hope one day
You'll find your way.
That way I hope will lead to me.
Perhaps then we could;
Perhaps then we should.
