Glimpse

Info

(A Short Fiction)

Tip tap tip tap – as you tapped each letter on your laptop.

You were writing another story again.

You stopped for a moment and looked outside.

You were thinking of another plot that would capture your readers’ heart. You were watching flowers outside the café. You thought to yourself that flower is really a nice metaphor to use as a symbol for women. But the scenery was disturbed when a white tall chinito guy passed by the garden. You followed him and saw him entered the café. You heard the wind chimes rang as the door slid open. You saw the man take off his hat and combed his hair using his hand. You saw him looked at his left and right. He went straight ahead to the manager. You thought that he was asking which table he reserved since the manager pointed the table in front of me. You cut off your space when you noticed that he was coming to your way.

You shifted your gaze to the laptop in front of you.

You started typing sentences which you really didn’t get.

You smiled.

You thought that you were like a teenage high school student.

You just shrugged your shoulders and drank your frappe which was beside your laptop. You grabbed some chips and ate it. You slowly raise your head to see where he seated. You saw him face to face – though it was really one table away from you.

You continue to look at him.

Then he moved his position and looked at you. You changed your view and looked outside. You just thought that colors red and blue are sexy and cool because of the cars passing by in front of the café. You kept your eyes busy with people that passed by. You just hope they would give you clue on what to write next. Your eyes moved and you looked at the doors - the chimes and its glass until your eyes reached the guy seated one table away from you. You saw his sunglasses hang in between of his blue V-neck shirt down to his white pants and black shoes. You found him attractive since he was so calm and compose while scanning his phone. You dropped your jaw when you realized that you were actually gawking at him. You took your gaze away from him and started sipping your frappe praying that it didn’t happen.

You started typing again.

You wrote the title, “Glimpse” and its date.

You started writing.

After several lines, you noticed that your writing was all new. Your eyes grew bigger and bigger as you read each sentence.

You stopped.

You tapped your fingers on the table.

Your sweat slid from your forehead to your neck. Your sight which was blurry became clearer.

You focused on the sight.

You were eager to find out.

You raise your head again – to see that he was looking at you. Your heart started to race inside you as you could feel your stomach buzz.

 You thought it was weird…

Since you smiled when he smiled at you.
