how I understand attraction

I've never been in love with someone who's in love with me at the same time,
For some unfair reason it never happened that someone actually love me back
It hurt me at some point but it's not a reason for me to suddenly change my mind
'Cause I believe that not because someone can't like you back doesn't mean you'll stop liking them
And you started liking a person not because they liked you first but you just like them for who they are,
Whether they like you or not that should not affect you and the way you look at attraction.

When I like you and you don't like me that's fine,
I know where I stand, I still like you though but not to the extent that I will force myself to you or to anybody. Cause you can feel whatever you feel and I can do the same thing.

And that's how I understand attraction.
