I remember the first touch..
It was too much
for a naive like me to fall in love with you.
I was stone cold, sweaty palms
thinking someone has come in my life,
It had never happened before
trying to give words to my thought.
Whole of my life this was something
I was never taught.
Shortly you became my earth, my sky,
I thought- I got my wings and I can fly.
But little did I know that it was seasonal
like the flying ant.
You chopped my wings before
I could learn to fly.
You showed me the mirage
and I was fool to consider you my water.
The love potion that you gave had poison in it.
But I was blinded to realise the taste of it...
The thought of leaving you left me into shatters,
Because it was only you then that mattered.
Killing my self-respect, suppressing my ego,
My wings were broke and I couldn't let go.
But soon I realised if I cannot fly but I can still crawl,
all that matters is to get up after you fall.
Since then I have been standing not prepared to fall,
your face flashes every now and then and I pull up my wall.
The chill of the first touch, the love in the eye,
everything is gone with you and I know why!
I decided to spare myself from doing the same mistake again,
but then I saw him and it reminded me of the pain.
Because loving yourself is the best love! And that's how she survived again!
