Just Us Months

Info

The gentle caress of the wind helped ease my mind. The wind wasn't usually this soft. It was always strong and always blew my hair away.
But not now. When I needed to have some comfort in these times of need the wind was always there to calm me down. A soft sigh escaped my lips.
The depressing thought that was brewing in my mind came to a halt.

Then after a minute the devious thoughts that I tried to hide, rushed back in my mind.
All the heart ache, the pain that I tried escaping from by walking up to the tallest building in the city, was completely unfair for me.

"June! What are you doing there?! Are you trying to commit suicide?!"

The corners of my lips tugged upward as a small laugh escaped from it.
"You know what, May. You gave me a wonderful suggestion that beats my idea of just standing here and taking a lungful of air."

Her eyes were glistening and I knew she was crying before she had came here. And I knew, those tears will come back to those bright eyes.

"Don't cry, May. I'll be fine. Even if it's not now, but I'll be okay then."

As if my words were some kind of password, a wave of tears started flowing down her cheeks. I walked towards her and brushed away the hair that was on her face.

"W-why do you have to be like that?"

I shrugged. "It's better than having you acting like this. You can't and won't bear the pain, May."

She smiled a little, showing one of her dimples.
"That rhymes."

I nodded back at her as if telling her that it is. She grabbed one of my hands and gripped it firmly. "Promise me you'll be okay. Promise me that you'll come back."

Slowly, I took away my hand from her grasp. The wind had stop blowing since May came here.

"It's not that easy, May. I'm not a fortune teller. I won't be a hundred percent okay."

"Still promise me that you'll try to be okay!"

I winced when her voice went up an octave. I shifted to the other side then turned my back to her.

"Goodbye, May," I whispered those words into the air.

"June!"
