Love

My life was a mess back then. I was forced to smile like I mean it, to make people happy like I'm enjoying it. The sun loved me for that, for he always shines whenever I get sad. It was like reminding me that this life will be better, somehow.

and it did, when I met you.

They say when you meet the love of your life, time stops. It's true. My head went quiet the moment I laid my eyes on you. Your violet dress swayed against the wind that was blowing on that chilly night. I immediately asked for a perfume, and wore a genuine smile. I was hesitant to approach you. What could a beauty like yourself find in a simple man like me? but the universe must've loved me so much that night that it gave me courage.

We started as the usual awkward teenagers saying sweet things to one another. I kept on thinking that maybe, just maybe, you'll be like other girls I had. No happy endings. Just a sad love story. But when you smiled at me and held my hand, I became certain that you are the woman I want to spend my whole life with.

I can still remember how our first kiss happened. I was staring at your face, because how could I not? You were asking permission to your aunt and you had that cute expression on. I can't help it, I fell in love all over again. Then suddenly, I felt like our lips were molded as one by the love we always have. It was just a second, but for me it felt like a century. That was the best kiss I had, we connected like we were more than just a girl and a boy madly in love. We're a story- a happy one.

Up until this very moment, I'm still digging for words to explain how much you mean to me. But it seems like words are not enough for this indescribable feeling. All I could utter now is a mere gratitude, because you made life bearable. This world may be bad and tainted, but there's also a part where I met you, and your brown eyes, and your cute smile, and that part became something that mattered the most. Now perhaps, this is true love.
