My Last

When I saw the night lights,

that's when I got reminded

that it was my safe haven.

A place where I always think about

the things I should've said

or the things I should've done

to prevent the catastrophe,

to keep things from falling apart.

We were yet to start but

you already see the end.

I know a lot has changed.

It doesn't feel the same way anymore.

I know what has died can never be brought back to life

by mere strength

it will be the same, no more.

I know I can never go any further

for this is all I have left.

But the same way Samson whispered his last words in agony,

I also plead, make me brave.
