When I was, but a little kid, how it fascinates me
to have a balloon tied to my wrist.
Feather-light, colorful thing, bobbing up and down. Shimmering silvery under the light of the sun.
How I wish this balloon would never go.
How I wish it would never expire.
How I wish it would never pop.
When I hold it, how I wish time would stop.
As long as it stays tied to me, I will be the happiest child the world gave birth to.
Unfortunately, things aren't made to last.....like the ballloon tied to my wrist.
As the knot eventually loosens, so is my hold to things I held on to dearly.
I know most things will disappear eventually.
I know most things will never be the same.
That is what balloons are designed for.
They were invented to make us realize that we should
hold on to things that made us smile and smile as we let go of them one by one.
