Rome wasn't built in a day.
It took a lifetime to be able to stand in all its glory,
For centuries, it has survived and withstood the test of time.
But like all other things, Rome suffered the passing of time,
while witnessing itself slowly reducing to ruins.
Chipped domes, crumbling floors, cracking pillars, breaking walls...
But still Rome is in every artist's canvass, in every writer's poem, in every traveler's memento, in every person's sense of awe..
What makes us say we can't be beautiful in all our ruins?
We are all broken, cracked, mangled, shattered, scarred and damaged,
sometimes beyond repair.
But like Rome, we will take a lifetime to stand in all the beauty and glory of our fresh scars and scar tissues.
Like Rome, its ruins proved its existence.
Like Rome, our ruins are beautiful proofs that we survived and will carry on.
