Why Kindness is For You

Being kind gives us a sense of honor, especially when we are challenged by those who did us wrong. It is easy to harbor angst and anger and sometimes displace it onto others, but if we learn to hold our tongues and speak positively we will be able to learn that kindness is not considered a weakness, but rather, a strength.

The world is full of people who are caught up in their own personal struggles that sometimes, they are not aware of their words and actions. They may be indifferent or overreactive. Our role here is to be kind. We may never know that they simply just need our kindness to make their situation better.

We are all scarred and will continually scar, but still, being kind is the right thing to do. The way we act is a reflection to ourselves. The good deeds you have done may mean little to you, but it could mean everything to the other. As Desmond Tutu says, "Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."
