Red or Grey

I saw him today in the full glory of his youth,his valour spoken in his gait,his vanity was too bright even in the summer noon.He walked past overlooking all who stood beside the path,his pompous eyes couldn't see the naivety of my being.
I was fragile,ready to offer whatever he could have asked.I stood there wondering why he couldn't sense the tenderness of my heart and the longing in my eyes.I approached him to let him know,I waited for him but he was too full of himself and didn't pay heed to me or my presence. He had admirers all around him and for him,I was now just a little being whose presence wasn't that projecting to arrest his attention. He loved to be flattered and he was rightfully treated by the ones around him.
I came back home dejected and I knew that I could never deny his existence in my life,knowing that I meant nothing to him.My heart wanted to give him a chance yet again but my mind didn't agree this time.
The emptiness in my heart knew no cure and I didn't know where I went wrong.
Months passed and I learnt to deal with the void.
Uncle Grey had come to my house and I told him what all bothered me,he was calm and he smiled at me.Before leaving he patted on my back telling "Your Uncle Grey was once like him,my vanity surpassed the love in my heart but time plays its part and the Redness of my Heart turned pale and look at me now."
While he left,I saw his calm demeanor and wondered if this man could transform, he too would,after all Time and Age will never fail to play it's part.
