I didn't know what to call the sudden sense of duty that dawned upon me seeing you in trouble,
I didn't know how to calm that rush within me every time I heard your voice,
I didn't know what to call you- a friend,a Best friend or a piece of my fondness every time someone asked me about you.
I waited for your calls even when I didn't admit.
I waited to hear how was your day, even when I lied I didn't,
I waited to see your face even though I never confessed it.
Years passed and your memory stayed with me within the brown pages of my old book of memories, carefully kept like the first rose given by a lover.
I still smile seeing someone enjoying the radiance of the sun and jumping in joy watching the rainbow.
My heart smiles when I see someone wearing black and walking down in poise,
I still smile at the thought of last minute college assignments and practicals.
The other day when I saw you decked up as a Bride,my heart was full of joy,
Your face looked calm and I felt a sense of satisfaction seeing you with the One with whom you deserved a Happy Ever After.
I knew You were like the First Pour of Rain after a Hot Sunny Afternoon but I knew I didn't want this Heavy pour every time,I needed the Sun too
I knew you were like those Lofty mountains whose call is hard to Ignore but I knew I craved to be back Home too.
I realized that the sense of duty I felt seeing you was my metaphorphosis into manhood.
I realized that those Butterflies within me had gone to sleep and the rush of excitement now knew the address of Tranquility.
You will be cherished within the pages of my old book which I now didn't want to open.
