Spark

Info

Hey, even now, I still remember how you came into this life of mine

It's funny how around a year ago I never even knew you existed

It makes me smile how sudden, abrupt and unexpected everything was

From your slightly boyish actions, to the way you fix your glasses

It causes me to chuckle whenever I think of how fond I've become of you.

It definitely wasn't ordinary, how everything began.

Somehow it was a game of Hide and Seek, even now I'm not quite sure who won.

It's not something I was quick to notice but,

I've changed in a way, ever since you came. People keep saying it. But maybe it just happened unconsciously, you know?

It's pretty ridiculous how quickly one small spark can turn into a wildfire turning everything in it's path into ashes. Lighting up the night sky as embers rise to meet the stars.

Yes. You were that spark that started this blaze of emotions that I always feel stirring up within me even now.

At one time I honestly thought the fire had died down, that everything was already gone and not even traces of heat were left.

Maybe that was what I told myself because in a way, that was what I wanted. Maybe I was scared that the inferno would consume me. That the smoke would stifle my breath, or maybe despite everything I said. I was still afraid of getting burnt.

However, what I didn't know, what I didn't expect, was that there was an ever so tiny amount of warmth left. Just enough. Barely enough to start a small fire, but still, there was something there and maybe I just didn't want to notice it.

I had thought to live in a world without that warmth that I had almost gotten used to. Almost wanted to get used to how cold it was without you.

But somehow, when I was just reminiscing how comfortable it felt to be around you, when I was just trying to settle for the memories, something unexpected happened. Whether it was fate playing with us again, or maybe coincidence taking pity on me, I would like to thank whatever it was. For when the cold was almost too unbearable, so much so that I had wanted to try  and start the fire again no matter the consequences.

There was a spark. Yes. A spark. And amazingly enough, it was you. Once more it was you. Just like how the Sun that gave light to me was you.

I thought it was gone, but at that moment I felt it once more. My heart literally skipping a beat and how comfortable it was to be with you. I had missed you, and like how the warmth was the same, these feelings of mine had not changed in the least.

You were the spark that caused the fire to ignite. The reason why once more, the world started to burn bright. And as the embers rise to meet the stars at night. May this fire guide the way of our hearts with a lasting light.

Things that I left unsaid. I don't think about them as much as I used to. Only sometimes.
