The Cloud and the Tree

Info

There was once a tree who fell in love with a Cloud

Every day and every night she watches him from a far

Hoping that someday somehow he will notice

That there is someone below adores him

She waited and waited, "maybe today he will look at me"

she hopes and prays with all she has

But that day seems so far away

for not even a glance he gave to her

So this tree thought by herself

maybe if I can reach him, he will finally notice me

She did her best to grow her roots

She extended her branches and twigs

She poured out her everything for her trunk to grow

she tried hard for her leaves to sprout and her flowers bloom

And slowly she makes her way up

desiring to reach her Cloud at last

But destiny also took it's place

playing them around it's fingers

For no matter how much the tree have grown

their distance are still miles away

But this tree never gave up

She continue to give her all, even though it hurts

She forced her trunk to grow more, leaving scars as she do

her leaves had dried and her flowers withered too

The trees around her are telling her to give up

seeing what she had done to herself

for she had lost her own beauty as a tree

trying so hard to reach the sky

But she did not listen ignoring their concerns

and continue to leave them as she grew taller

She thought that they could not understand

the love she had for her dearest Cloud

time had passed when she looked up

she knew she had grown so much higher

but still the sky seemed so far away

same with the Cloud she loves

She cried and cried for she can't understand

she did her best but why it seems nothing had happened

she looked to herself and saw what she became,

weary and torn and she cried more

she looks around her and found no one

for she had left them all as she tried to reach him

and right there she realized what she had lost

her friends, her beauty and herself

That moment a bird came by and rest on her branch

and then she told her this

"you should stop reaching for someone out of your league

for he belongs up there in the sky and you belongs down here on earth"

reality hits her hard

for she knew that what the bird had said is true

her greed and desire had made her blind to see the truth

that they belong to different world

not everything we want can belong to us

sometimes there are things that no matter how much you tried

you can never reach nor even touch it

this is our sad REALITY..
