The Silence

The wind blew, cold and dry
Through the deserted land
Deserted by war, not people
Now lay a Hundred hand
Some holding letters
Some holding weapons

Food is scarce, water abstinent
Not because of the lack of it
But due to the colour Blood red
No animal here is all fine and fit
After all, it is a battlefield
Killing- a speciality of the guild

Once there lived a happy town
With fares and children around
Now there lies a Gilded crown
Gunshots were the only sound
Identity played its role
With crises first sold

A lifeless child, wounded souls
Graveyard of the dead and gory
Rich in history, Profound story
All living up to the town’s glory
Eerie Winds tell the passer-by
Of ghost stories and battle cry

No more sounds, no more life
It would be better without a fight
Of Mindless heads and Sinful dive
And the martyrs showed their might
One deal, One world, Endless lines
By cartographers and a million dimes

Peace would not have been an option
But when the fight for power rose
The greed and greater commotion
Law was blind but men were so too
Wars, weapons and news headlines
Soaring and falling Sensex lines.
