To the man that loved me even when I didn't

Info

Just a year ago when you said you like me

I was surprised because I had no clue really

You were just a friend and nothing more

I even said never will I adore

Days, weeks and months passed swiftly

I started to notice the way you look at me

The way you move when you're around me

But I felt normal and treated you kindly

I broke your heart as I loved another

I thought you'd move on and meet some other

But you were still there just being present

'til I broke my own heart like an angel sent

Time flew and I really didn't know what happened

I started to look at you so sweet and different

I got weird and felt shy whenever you're just around hanging

I tried to act normal and denied what I was feeling

Funny, never in my mind, a year later I'd say I like you

I thank God for a love like yours and for you just being you

I pray for a heart like yours and thank you for the consistency too

Not just a friend anymore because I am truly, madly, deeply in love with you.
