Twisted Reason

I was just about to unwrapped my legs around my pillow when I received a message

" Are you done with the Statistics assignment? "

Well, I replied " I havent started yet "
But here's to the more twisted reason ;

Notification kept on blinking and so I grabbed a pen and paper and started reading.
I tended to answer the questions
yet the answers I've been looking for seemed so farfetched.

I needed to regain my energy from three and a half hour bus ride,
and so the papers were set aside.
I dived through my bed
and buried my face in my pillow again,

I enveloped my soul with a blanket of optimism and curled in my sheet of innocence,
stained with the curse of procrastination.

I searched for my phone which I've relied to since the beginning
Seized it, grabbed it and delved through defaults and complex procedures.

Facebook was first app I saw 1and so
I clicked it and got lost with random posts and videos
I stumbled upon an article with the title,
How not to be a great procrastinator,
And that was the on set of excitement for me to do the things right away .

So back to my assignment,
I developed the motivation to do the things and be productive that night
So I held my pen and scratch papers,

Yet my mind was not responsive,
It manipulated my eyes to stare at the blank ceiling,
It maneuvered my body to wrap my arms around my knees while sitting.

I insisted ! I must do it Now!
After I read the signs and symbols:

I flipped some pages ,
closed my notes and
Let my first journey
of finding the answers
be in my dreams .
I realized I need to reconsider
my brain's appeal to rest.
